I just read a really cool report over on Softpedia about a really cool piece of tech gear. Nike has partnered with Apple to produce the “Nike+iPod Sport Kit”. It is composed of 2 parts, one is a wireless sensor that you attach to your shoe and the other part connects to the iPod Nano’s dock connector. The 2 parts work to read, write and store information about the amount of time that you have been exercising, the distance that has been covered, and the number of calories burned . Not only that, but all of that important information is then archived on the iPod where it can be displayed in real time on the iPod’s. I admit that I am not an athletic person, yet!, (if you know me then you probably know that!) but I think that its great for people who want to loose weight or for people who need to know their stats when they train for marathons, for example. This just goes to show how big a player the iPod is and how it is changing the way users relax, and now exercise!
